A Foundation For Oily Skin?♥

Having oily skin and finding a foundation that won't slip and slide around is a bit of a nightmare. I have being paying particular attention to the skin type so that I can buy a foundation just for oily skin. Then I stumbled upon the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte & Poreless. I had heard of it on YouTube and blogs as I believe it was originally released in America first - I knew I had to get my hands on it.

As usual, I bought the palest shade available, and in all honesty, I don't feel it's all that pale. With that aside, the foundation itself is pretty good. As it's in a tube packaging, I only use a small amount and add more if needed - less is more - and can always build more layers up. I ensure to use a primer beneath (mainly out of habit; mainly because of my oily skin), then set it with powder and use a setting spray to lock it in. In terms of lasting, it lasts a fair few hours before I feel I need to apply some extra powder. I have found that on the (rare) warmer days, it will slip off more, however, I won't need to worry about that happening often in Scotland (haha, more like worrying about it dripping with the rain..)

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of it being a tube - I'm always afraid incase I use too much and waste it, I would've liked if it came in a pump style bottle. Personally, I blend it out with a damp beauty sponge, and by using this, it ensures that the foundation doesn't look cakey.

For the price of £5.99, I don't think you can go wrong with this foundation. It isn't orange either, which is good for a pale gal like me. The coverage is quite medium but feels super lightweight at the same time. It is most certainly an everyday foundation.

Have you tried this foundation? What's your opinion on it?

  1. I haven't tried this but I have tried the regular fit me which I liked except for the fact that I had oily skin so this seems like it would solve all problems!

  3. I've just got this in shade 110 and it's kinda still on trial. It seems to oxidise a bit orangey too! I've heard that 110 is actually lighter than 105 though which is weird... I kinda like it, I'm just used to thicker, more full coverage foundations I think. I reckon I need to get some white foundation to mix with my drugstore ones as they're never quite right...

  8. Okay, I know you don't like the tube...but I like it better than what we have here in the states. It's a glass bottle with an open top (no pump) and as I use more and more it gets harder to get the product out. Especially without it dumping too much on the back of your hand. Every foundation should be made with a pump!!

But anyways, I love this foundation, too! It's my go-to for an every day look. :-)

    1. Ahh I could imagine that being a right pain, least with the tube you can just squeeze it aha! Yeah I love it, and it's pretty natural too! x

  9. I haven't tried this one but I have heard great things about it! I just started using the L'ORÉAL Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation which I love, but I got the wrong shade so it's a bit too dark :/

    1. Oh I've not heard of that one - I know in the UK we have the original Infallible and the Infallible Matte but I don't think we've got this one yet - but that's such a bummer you got the wrong shade, boo! x

  10. I've been wanting to try this foundation but I'm really reluctant. Drugstore foundations rarely run pale enough for my skin tone. This sounds great for oily skin though!

    1. I agree with you - some of the palest shades aren't quite pale enough! x

  11. I haven't tried this one but have read mixed reviews. Then again, each foundation seems to work differently for different skin types/specific skin conditions. Thanks for reviewing it, lovely. My skin is oily with spells of dryness so I am always trying to get something that suits it foundation-wise. It's a nice thing when it's lightweight :)
Loved catching up a bit tonight, sweetie!!

  15. I have oily skin too and this is definitely one of my favorite drug store foundations. I've never seen it in the squeeze tube before though, I get mine in the glass bottle and I always end up pouring out way more than I want to use!
I would love to see you post more products that are great for oily skin! XOA

    1. I think the glass bottle is maybe an American version, whereas the tube is a British version! x

  16. I've wanted to try this foundation a while but I can never get a good colour match. It's a shame it doesn't last too long before you need to powder but I guess for the price you can't really go wrong! Great post :)
