Trying Out New Brands♥

I love trying out new makeup products. Whether it's from brand that I adore or a completely new brand to me, I'm up for trying it out. If it's makeup, I can hardly say no, how could you?! When I was given a Glossybox from a family member who didn't fancy the box, I think it's fair to say I was rather thrilled to play about with the goodies inside.

Starting with the one skincare product inside - Talika Photo Hydra Day Cream. Even though I have mega oily skin, I still believe it's vital that you moisturise your face. As advised, it's a day cream - I'm really picky when it comes to morning and evening creams. It has a nice consistency which isn't too thick nor watery and absorbs into my skin fairly quickly. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin, nor does it make my skin feel greasy. As far as fragrance is concerned, I don't think it has one - or am I nose blind?

I have a serious love/hate relationship with lipbalms, but I decided to give the Lanolips Banana Balm a shot; there was something about the banana scent that I liked. It claims to be a 3-in-1: a lip conditioner, a lip protectant and a lip lustre. I always worry that lipbalms are going to leave my lips feeling as though I've slathered cooking oil on them. Thankfully, I don't feel this way towards this balm. It's light, non-greasy and non-sticky. My lips feel hydrated and smooth. Not to mention they smell nice too!

I have tried lots from MUA in the past, and since I love eyeshadow, I knew the MUA Undressed Palette would be right up my street. There's just so many Jasmine colours in there - look at all the pretty golds and browns in there! It comes with 12 shades - all of which are of a high standard regarding pigmentation. It has two blue shades which spice things up a little if I'm feeling adventurous (always and forever). The only downfall is that it comes with a sponge applicator, but in all honestly, I cannot complain for the low price tag.

Finally, I have a lip crayon. Lord and Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss is my first ever Lord and Berry product so imagine my excitement after hearing the brand being raved about everywhere. I was worried it would be matte and super drying. Fortuantely, it's not too much on the dry side, after all, it is a pencil. Pigmentation wise, it sure does not lack it at all. One swipe on my lips and I was greeted with the colour. It's in between a pink and a red with some orange tones throughout it. It will be super pretty in the upcoming (hopefully) Spring and Summer.

All of the products have been good in their own way, absolutely none of them were a let down. I would recommend them all for different reasons! Especially if you are anything like me and love to try out new brands and products.

Have you tried any of these products?

*Also, how cute is the featured Daisy Mae Bracelet? I am loving it right now!

  1. I used to get Birchbox but after a while I had to cancel it as I had so many products I hadn't used yet. This post looks such a good box - I'm definitely going to get Birchbox again after I've used all the products.

  37. To be honest I never heard of any of these brands before. I can recommend you two really good lipbalms that you will fall in love with. They protect your lips and don't feel greasy at all! One of them is Blistex, which leaves a minty sensation on your lips and it will protect you from the strongest wind out there, and the other one is Burt's Bees, which will hydrate. I love them both! I cycle every day and I need good protection for my lips so they don't get chapped, and these 2 are life saviors. :)
