My blogging journey has been an interesting one for sure. From starting out and sharing my blog with everyone to where I stand today has been nothing but remarkable, and I wouldn't change it at all. Travelling along the way, I have become more and more grateful for discovering the blogging world and community. When I started, my confidence was pretty low to say the least, and now, I'm like a complete different person. The moral of the story - I owe blogging a huge big thank you. There are numerous reasons why, and I'm sure there are many that my fellow bloggers can relate to.
1. Confidence - Linking back to the previous comment about blogging, my confidence has grown a lot. It's crazy but amazing to think that writing a few words on the internet can help, but it has. Whether you have a beauty, fashion, lifestyle or any other genre of blog, I am certain you will be able to relate. It has taken a long time to get where I am, and I'm happy; I'm confident within myself as well as my blog. Now, when I meet new people, I'm completely fine and confident in my surroundings, whereas before, it would have been my ideal of hell, definitely out of my comfort zone. Three and a half years of rambling on about makeup has truly helped me to grow.
2. Friendships - Who'd have thought blogging could form such a thing? I am privileged to be part of this wonderful blogging community, and I have met some of the most lovely bloggers ever, some of whom include Kirsty, Hannah and Amie. I am so grateful to have created friendships within blogging because other bloggers just get me - any blogging issues or problems, they're there to help me out. I could be ranting to them about my studio lights and they would be able to relate, literally. Majority of the time, the blogging community is like one big happy family who all unite to help support each other. The best part? We all have one same common interest - blogging!
3. Opportunities - This can be quite a controversial area to discuss as many people believe some people are in the whole blogging scene purely for the PR samples (or as some people call it, "freebies"). For me, this is not what blogging is about. If an opportunity lands in my emails, I always get extremely excited about it. Of course, it has got to be relative to my blog (no, I won't promote your car parts, or sinks, or cat food *sighs*) and it's vital for me to research into the brand before accepting their offer. Each and every time I receive an opportunity is just as exciting as my first, and I am thankful for every single one. I have had the chance to work alongside well-known brands, some including Urban Decay, Lancome and Maybelline. Opening an email which is about an opportunity is like a child opening a present - full of secrets inside but sure to bring delight!
4. My Space - No, I'm not referring to the website that everyone seemed to be obsessed with back in the day, I'm referring to my own space on the internet; my little corner. I enjoy voicing my opinion with like-minded people, and it's a place where I can write as much as I want about whatever I want - it's my blog, therefore it's my rules. I can ramble on to my heart's content about my new lipstick, and how badly I want the new and latest makeup launch. Writing is something I have loved since a young age, and I feel blogging is just so appropriate to fulfill my hobby.
5. Hobby - Not only would I class blogging as a hobby, but also a passion. When I started up my blog on one rainy day in April 2014, I never imagined it to be as it stands on this very day, 3 and a half years later. My blog photos have been through their very own evolution, and dare I say it - glow up - of which I have developed an absolute love for photography; I have branched outwith blogging to pursue my love further. When I start up a hobby, I never get bored of it straight away, I give it my all, and I guess this is evident with my blog!
So, when you put your little heart and soul into something you love, then hard work and sheer determination pays off. I guess I must say one big, huge thank you to the world of blogging - so far, it has been a blast. The amount of things I have learnt is unbelievable, from how important witty blog titles are to how vital it is to get the perfect photo. And yes, blogging has made me realise that I own too much makeup and that anything rose gold, or marble, is sure to catch my eye!
You're an absolute babe darling, honest. You're such a ray of sunshine and I'm so lucky to have you in my life. I love you lots!
