Budget Brand That Doesn't Disappoint♥*

W7 is a brand known famously for their bargain products (and dupes). I love a good bargain, and I know W7 is a brand I can trust. With a varying mix of products from eyeshadow palettes to cheek tints, there truly is something for everyone, and I love that. W7 recently sent me some goodies and the most exciting part? I didn't know what they were sending out, oh the excitement when I opened the box!

Palettes, more specifically eyeshadow palettes, are one of my favourite makeup products to buy. I have an evergrowing and overgrowing collection of them, but who can resist? When I saw the W7 'In The Night' Up In Smoke Eye Colour Palette*, I could not wait to give it a bash. With it being my third W7 palette in my collection, I knew it would give a good result. As expected from the name, most of the shades are "smoky", however, the first five shades are less intense and more wearable. What I like is the fact the grey shades are actually different to each other, thankfully. As standard W7 palettes, it comes with a brush. Nothing brilliant but nothing terrible.

Mascara; no matter how thin or thick the wand appears, I'll give it a shot. The W7 Thick Em' Up Extra Thick Lashes Mascara - Blackest Black* has a massive wand - in all honesty, I was a little intimidated to try it incase I stabbed my eyeball or anything. It's a plastic wand, but I don't have a preference of wand type. I tried it itself (without layering on top of other mascaras etc) and it gave a lot of volume, not so much length. The mascaras consistency is ever so slightly on the wet side so is prone to clumping, but apart from that, it's pretty good. It's best to use itself without other mascaras.

For some odd reason, I actually do not own that many clear lipglosses. Surprising, isn't it? The W7 Kiss Me Plumping Lip Gloss* is clear and claims to be "plumping". I can see where it's meant to be "plumping" - it has a minty/peppermint scent to it which is meant to plump lips. I cannot see much of a difference to my lips when I wear it, but I just enjoy wearing it as a clear gloss. It's not sticky at all, fortunately.

The product I was perhaps most curious to. The W7 Lip and Cheek Stain - A Hint Of Tahiti* reminds me of Benefit's Benetint - I'm assuming that is the idea. I was almost clueless to how to use it, mainly because I was afraid of having the "dots" left on my cheeks. It blends okay, but I feel I don't suit the pink shade that well on my cheeks, however, it looks much prettier on my lips.

As always, I have not been disappointed by W7! I highly recommend their eyeshadow palettes if you are looking for an inexpensive palette (or palettes, you know) to buy.

What have you tried from W7 that you have loved?

  1. I really want to try W7 eyeshadows! I haven't tried much from the brand but I've only heard good things - my first ever primer was actually from W7, it was a similar texture to Benefit Porefessional and I was blown away by it!

    1. I have three of their palettes; in the buff is a dupe of UD Naked 2 and in the nude is a dupe of UD Naked 3! Ohh I need to try that then - I have Benefit porefessional and like it so a dupe would be ideal! x

  9. I like the look of the lip plumping gloss that sounds great and something like Soap & Glory have available but for a cheaper price which is always good. I also really like the palette, not so sure about the mascara as you mentioned the brush looks a little intimidating but I'd still be willing to give it a try never the less.

  11. I've tried a W7 liquid eyeliner years ago and from memory I really liked it! Though, same can't be said for the eyeshadows. I bought two of the Urban Decay dupe palettes and they were pretty bad, had terrible pigmentation and no staying power. Hopefully the other ones are better quality! Would still try more from W7 seeing as they're such an affordable brand. Holly x | http://www.thechroniclesofholly.com/

  23. You did a post on W7 ages ago and I read it and I was like okay I gotta try this brand but I can't find W7 products anywhere. We don't have it in drugstores here in Finland and I can't seem to find a website that would ship it to Finland. But the palette looks amazing for smokey eye looks, would quite like to try it out.

  26. The smokey palette is so light, didn't expect to see a light pink shade in amongst! I can't get used to thick wands anymore, all the thin ones have made me scared! Smashbox wands are huge too. I thought the tint was a nail varnish! It's a pretty colour but wouldn't have a clue how to use it! Love W7 though, soo much to choose from xx

  27. I have never tried W7 babes - where have I been?! Love the look of the palette - really interesting shades. The mascara wand looks massive but I guess as long as it works it's good. I love mine thin and delicate, otherwise I'd probably apply too much product and have spider'y lashes :)
Lovely review & thanks for introducing all the products, sweetie!

  31. I agree with you that W7 never disappoint!

I love their products and love how affordable they are!

My faves are the Absolute Lashes mascara which is the perfect dupe to Benefit They're Real, the Bronze & Glow palette which is the perfect dupe to the CT Filmstar palette and their Light Diffusing concealer.

W7 recently sent me some goodies and I loved them all!

Good post and pictures as always lovely!
